Girls Gone Gazelle VIRTUAL Challenge from April 20 – June 13th

Girls Gone Gazelle VIRTUAL Challenge from April 20 – June 13th

Last week we shared the news that our 2020 SPRING SESSION of Girls Gone Gazelle was postponed due to Covid-19 so we are going virtual with the GIRLS GONE GAZELLE VIRTUAL CHALLENGE from April 20 – June 13th

We often reference Girls Gone Gazelle as a confidence club not a run club. Ever wonder why we do that? Our group training together builds confidence, self-esteem and resilience and it happens to do so through running. Right now, during the Covid-19 pandemic it is resilience that seems to be the most important skill of all.

This month we are inviting our spring gazelles to join the first of its kind VIRTUAL GIRLS GONE GAZELLE CHALLENGE from April 20 – June 13th. Each parent has already received the training plan and an outline for tracking the activities to qualify for prizes and the final finisher’s medal.

A runner is often resilient because running is unpredictable, no run is the same. You set out on a run feeling great and it turns into a terrible struggle; yet you persevere and succeed. Repeated exposure to a challenge increases your confidence to handle just about anything. And that teaches resilient people to look at the bright side of a situation; to believe in your own strength and your ability to address and overcome any problem. Something isn’t negative, it is as an opportunity to do something better or get something better. Adversity is a challenge, not a threat.

Girls Gone Gazelle introduces girls to running through weekly practices and we build up to our graduation event, the Sole Sisters 5K. Each practice helps contribute more resilience to a Gazelle’s toolbox.

We wanted to post about this challenge to everyone because there are many parents looking for activities now that schools are closed. For as long as we are allowed to exercise outside, why don’t you follow the program with your family, your daughter, your son, whomever you live with that might need this. The training plan is here and once we return to normal, if you reach out to us, we’ll get you some bling too! Or if you just need an easier to read copy of the training guide. Good luck and remember to Be The Inspiration.
